lion.jpgCongratulations to our many seniors on their college acceptances or finalization of military and work plans.  Now comes the time of even harder work with the scholarship applications and filling out the FAFSA for financial aid.   IT IS EXTREMELY IMPORTANT FOR FAFSA FORMS TO BE FILLED OUT BY APIRL 1ST AT THE LATEST TO SECURE FUNDING FOR THE FALL.  If parents or students are unsure where to begin or uneasy in this process, please contact us in Guidance.  We are more than happy to set up individual appointments to go through each and every step of the forms.   A copy of this year’s or last year’s taxes are needed to fill out the FAFSA which can be done online or in paper format.  In terms of local scholarships, a scholarship booklet will be made available to each senior in April.  These scholarships often require letters of application.  Seniors are encouraged to meet with Ms. Ray if they wish to have assistance getting started with these letters.  Appearance of the applications, attention to grammar and spelling, and meeting the deadlines are all so very important in obtaining scholarships.Seniors were given GPAs and class ranking.  Any student not receiving this information, please see Mary.

Prior to the statewide Saturday SAT for Juniors on May 3rd, the state of Maine requires additional testing in Math & Science.  On April 1st, all Juniors will take a special Math SAT test and on April 8th, a special Science SAT test.  To help students prepare, we will be offering special study group sessions with snacks and prizes on March 31st after school and April 7th after school.  Hope to see as many Juniors there as possible.  A reminder to Juniors & Parents that you will not have school on Monday, May 5th due to the requirement of your attendance at the Saturday SAT test.

Be watching for the details of our upcoming N.E.R.D. night on Friday, May 2nd tolamb.jpg help our juniors prepare for the SAT!!!
